The American diner has become so ingrained into the American culture that many now feel it synonymous with Mom and apple pie. Even before the 1950's the American diners were becoming part of the fabric of society through the works of Norman Rockwell. Who can forget that charming painting of the little boy staring up at the policeman seated at the vintage diner lunch counter.
Today's busy life style is a sharp contrast to the more relaxed, friendlier times of our youth. Oh, to once again relive those days of innocence and hope - to feel your heart start to pound just to sit next to your sweetheart in your favorite booth at your favorite soda fountain listening to Elvis Presley, Fats Domino, Ray Charles and countless other pioneers of rock and roll and rhythm and blues.
Now that we are all grown up there is a resurgence in the recreation of that 50's charm in an increase in retro theme diners, restaurants, and ice cream parlors. Many homeowners are also creating their own retro rec-rooms, kitchens, bars, home theatres and game rooms.
We have provided our custom built retro booth sets to thousands of restaurants and homeowners. Pixar Movie Studios has several of our red and white 57 Chevy V Back sets in their productions facility in California. They have reordered several times. The latest was for the premier party for the release of their recent new movie "Cars".
Giovanni Cosmetics preferred a red and white banded back set while Chris Lisle, lighting director for country music legend Keith Urban preferred the charcoal zodiac in a 57 Chevy V back style.
What is more American than Coca-Cola that originated in a small town pharmacy soda fountain? Maybe that is why our most popular color of diner booth set is red and white.
Take a drive down historic Route 66 and stop in the Route 66 Place Diner in Williams, Arizona and you'll find yourself taken away to another time. Enjoy your cheeseburger and malt from one of our comfortable booths. Jason Moore and his wife, the owners preferred the 60" red and white Hot Rod Chevy sets for this job. Large groups will appreciate their matching 92" x 92" L-shaped corner booth. They also have one of the greatest retro gift shops that you will ever see.
You can have your own set made in your school colors or perhaps choose the colors of your favorite sports team. The point is that our retro booths and booth sets are custom built just for our customers so you can have yours just the way you like it. You can also choose from any standard laminate color or pattern that Formica or Wilson Arts offers.
If you have come this far, I am sure you have seen other "retro" furniture sites on the web and you may ask yourself - "What makes these any different" or "Why are your prices so low compared to other vintage style sets".
The answer is that our booths are made of the highest quality since our primary customers are restaurants, hotels, casino, cruse lines, etc.. These customers simply would not accept the cheap, down sized, lightweight, look-a-likes that some competitors sell. Our booths are made with oak or hardwood frames not plywood. We use no-sag springs with steel connectors covered with high density foam for the springs. Some competitor's benches are covered in a grade 1 vinyl but all of our benches come standard with a commercial grade 4 vinyl. We also offer and even thicker grade 6 and the classy Zodiac "sparkle" vinyl as options.
Our prices are so low for the same basic reasons. Commercial customers shop around and insist on top quality for the lowest possible prices. Some competitors have zoned in on home users exclusively who often do not have as many choices and the result is much higher prices. Sometimes 2-4 times as much.
In addition our booths are not Chinese imports built by orphans in factories owned by the Communist Chinese government. Ours are made right here in the Memphis area, Elvis's old stomping grounds by real honest to God Americans.
The standard size of our standard bench is 36 inches tall, 45 inches long, and 24 inches from the back of the seat to the front edge of the seat. The standard table is 30 inches by 45 inches and come with a standard black steel and cast iron table base. This size set comfortably seats 4 adults. Many people ask, "How much room does that take up?".
I tell them that really depends on how close you want to sit to the table. Some want the edge of the table to over-hang the edge of the seat but others do not in order to accommodate larger guests. So, that being said, the footprint would be 45 inches by 78 inches IF you don?t want any overhang at all. This would the maximum space required.
Shipping weight on a standard set is 350 pounds including the pallet.
Need a set to seat 6 adults?
You may prefer a 60 inch set. All the other dimensions are the same except for the length of the benches and table are 60 inches instead of 45 inches.
Need a corner booth?
We can provide you with a set made to you size specifications. We have L-shaped, U-shaped, and 3/4 round shaped sets. If you are interested in one of these, will need a simple drawing showing the size and shape that you want. The drawing doesn't have to be fancy, just so we can get an idea of what you want. You can fax it to us at 901-881-5327 or you can email it to us.
Another common question that some customers have is concerning shipping.
We generally ship booths freight collect with a few exceptions. This allows you to be sure that you are paying only the exact freight charges.
We can use our shipping contracts to get you the lowest possible shipping cost. Just email us your shipping address including zip code, tell us if it is a residential or commercial address and let us know how many and what size would be shipped and we will get right back to you with a freight estimate. In most cases, since it is generally more expensive to ship to a residential address, we will get 2 estimates for residential customers. One for a residential delivery with a lift gate truck and one for a customer pickup at the nearest truck terminal. Many customers find that they can save even more money this way. Of course, you also have the option of picking up your order here in the Memphis area and avoid all shipping fees and the $25 per pallet packing fee as well.
